Hej. Hola. Hello.

Welcome! You have stumbled upon the words of a bilingual human being, woman, only daughter, godmother and citizen, lucky enough to belong to more than one nation on our planet.

La Tinta Rosa is an amalgam of who I am. Tinta means inc in Spanish, and Rosa is the meaning of my Danish last name in Spanish. When combined, the title of my blog conveys the essence of my online reason to be.

I have created this virtual space, because it is the only actual place, I can have simultaneous presence in two worlds at the same time.
And because I have something to say about that experience of being in life – of growing up with one leg in two cultures – that I want to share with those also mesmerized about duality, belonging, paradoxes in life and storytelling.

Ever since I could write, I have written my thoughts down, and kept a diary of the most significant events and people in my life. I have written and argued in Danish, Spanish and English. But I have never before shared my insights with others – even though keeping a diary has been one of the few constants in my life throughout time.

So, I decided it was time to join the World Wide Web, to challenge my writing and explore the power of storytelling beyond the sheets of a notebook. I have no purpose nor result in mind. I see this as a journey of getting wiser. Of re-discovery. An enlightenment project across borders.

As I go along, I do hope to connect with my readers, to be inspired and to inspire conversations between cultures. I wish to voice my experience in the world as a Danish Mexican woman in the 21st century. I aspire to serve as a source to you. Ideally, function as a bridge across oceans, allowing me to share the best of both worlds back and forth, while staying updated and in sync with what is going on, the two the places on earth, I call home. Mexico and Denmark. I will be writing in English, Danish and Spanish depending on the subject at heart and the context.

This is my testimony as a cross-cultural being, born in the summer of 1983, currently based in Copenhagen, and with a heart always pounding for my other half: the Mexicans and the Magic of Mexico. Oaxaca in particular.

I would love to hear from you, so please feel free to leave me a comment – and let your inc flow.
